Community Health Partners in collaboration with Global Surgical Inc. & partners, respond to Healthcare Access Crisis with Free Medical Camp in Jinja.

Jinja, Uganda - June 7, 2024 - In an effort to address the escalating difficulties in accessing affordable medical services, Global Surgical Inc. successfully organized a one-day free medical camp at Kyabirwa Primary School. This initiative targeted vulnerable and disadvantaged women, children, and other residents of Jinja.
The event was a collaborative effort involving several partners: Busoga Health Forum, Community Health Partners, The AIDS Support Organization (TASO), Sole Foundation, Sole Hope, Kyabirwa Health Center IV, and BBS Terefaniya, a local television station. These organizations came together to offer a variety of critical health services at no cost to the community.
A total of 636 individuals benefited from the camp, receiving essential services such as:
HIV/AIDS counseling and testing
Breast and cervical cancer screenings and consultations
Malaria testing
Family planning services
Sexual and reproductive health education and rights

This initiative underscores the importance of community-based health interventions in improving healthcare accessibility for vulnerable populations. Through partnerships and community engagement, Global Surgical Inc. and its partners are making significant strides in addressing health disparities in the region.
